As some of you may remember, a few months ago I gave much praise to Electric President and Radical Face; two projects by the multi-talented musician Ben Cooper. As of late, he is rumored to be working on another album for each of these projects. In the meantime, however, he has released an 11 track album under the name Patients.

On his blog, Ben mentions that while working on records for the myriad of projects that he involves himself with, he often ends up with a handful of tracks that didn't quite make the cut, or perhaps just didn't fit the mood of that particular album. "Instead of putting the songs up one at a time or simply forgetting about them," Ben writes on his blog, "I decided to put them into mini-collections and find a more interesting way to get them out. So these are not going to be records, in a sense that the songs have any relationship with each other." As for the future of this project, Ben is completely unsure of when/if/how often he will release records such as this. Either way, I think it's an excellent idea for artists to give fans more of what they want - much like what deatch cab for cutie just did with the release of their leftovers-from-the-album EP entitled "The Open Door EP."

I haven't had an extraordinarily long amount of time to listen to the Patients record yet - but from what I've heard so far I love it - even though the tracks obviously don't flow from one to another. Below is a track that is quickly becoming one of my favorites already. It's called "Mind Ur Manners."
