Dave Cahill, a multi-instrumentalist and guitarist, is a self proclaimed activist, musician, and composer - and he fulfills each of those adjectives to a large extent - Dave's catalog is about 8 records deep, and his passion for humanity, equality, and music goes even deeper.

Cahill's music is primarily acoustic based, giving each song a very organic sound. His playing style isn't necissarily strumming, however, making his original compositions particularly original. An already accomplished vocalist himself, Dave uses a variety of vocal guests on his records.  These different vocal tonalities from track to track help keep things interesting while allowing Dave to concentrate his energy on his sometimes complex guitar-work. This particular song features vocalist Andy Waldeck. (the song cuts early - sorry!)

"How Far" off of The Huddled Masses

Dave collaborates with Alex Radus, a musician we did some work with in the past, and after listening to both Dave and Alex, its easy to see where their common ground intersects.  Cahill describes his music as Gypsy Jazz, Rock, & Experimentation. The Gypsy aspect is something I would'nt have thought of, but its a perfect description and is really apparent on this track, also off of Dave's The Huddled Masses. Also, I should mention that a returning contributor to these recordings and all "The Almighty Terribles" tracks feature "musical scientist" Myke Tarlazzi, good friend and long time musical collaborator with Dave. You'll hear more on him and the rest of the band, which includes Dave's brother Rich, at a later date when I've researched some more.

Cahill's most recent project goes by the name: "The Almighty Terribles" and the production, message, atmosphere, and originality of their first album, Fascists to Ashes, speaks miles. The Almighty Terribles are based out of Asbury, NJ - I don't much about them other than what I've gathered from the following video - a music video for a track off of Fascists to Ashes.

    The Almighty Terribles: War

Produced, Directed, Edited by Dylan Avery

THE SKINNY: Dave Cahill is a busy man, writing music, performing shows, speaking his mind in public, and letting the country know peace and love save nations, not war. His ideals, musicianship, and values ring throughout his entire discography, making him, and The Almighty Terribles truly praiseworthy wallflowers.
