Since the last PFW update, I've disclosed with you, dear reader, that I've been busy with various musical projects during the last few weeks. We recently performed a small show in my apartment that, due to the volume, drew an admirably sized crowd. Among the folk was someone I've had little contact with over the past year, but had been nonetheless aware of. Shame on me for not posting about this guy's talents sooner; it's really something to write home about.
Todd Pritchard is a jazz guitarist from Rowan University whom I think brings something different to the table in that his composition skills exceed that of others who study the instrument on a collegiate level. On his myspace, you can find beautifully arranged songs that you'll probably be familiar with.
I had the pleasure of seeing Todd's senior recital, here at Rowan. Nothing is dubbed; its wholly organic, and any musician with half an ear can appreciate that. When I have more time to study his main group, LP Stiles Trio, I'll put them up, as well.
THE SKINNY: Todd Pritchard is a guitarist that rightfully shouldn't be labeled with genres; his arrangements and compositions speak for themselves.
FAVORITE TRACK: Somewhere Over the Rainbow
APPROPRIATE FOR: Taking a nap, fans of Classical Guitar
FOR FANS OF: Pat Metheny, Andy Mckee
